Nanuku Auberge Resort (Pacific Harbour, Fiji) has opened its doors to the local Fijian kinship as well as resort guests to present a series of monthly, delectable, culinary events. Developed by Food & Beverage Director Logan Miller, the Nanuku Culinary Series is co-hosted by Executive Chef Oliver Scarf in collaboration with various Fijian community partners.
The resounding success of the inaugural event, a Wine & Dinner degustation co-hosted by Villa Maria Wines and Victoria Wines in April 2018 has inspired a series of successive community focused events including a Lean, Clean & Green event in partnership with The Earth Care Agency and the Ranadi Plantation, a Seafood, Champagne & Starlight evening with live chef stations and The King & Queen Bee honey-themed dinner precluded by visiting the resident Beekeeper and an indulgent honey-inspired spa treatment.
A more immersive Nanuku Food Safari involves visiting local Fijian markets to source fresh Fijian fruit, vegetables and coconuts, a community farm to educate participants on produce origins, before returning to Nanuku Auberge to enjoy a warrior-prepared and cooked Fijian meal.
General Manager, Sascha Hemmann explains the vision behind the 2018 Nanuku Culinary Series.
